Midwinterfeest 2023 ☃️
For this edition of our Midwinter Festival, we are going back to basics, with a primal Christmas market in the (Christmas) Balstraat, free entry to various venues and tons of midwinter atmosphere. Conviviality continues to prevail at the annual Midwinter Festival, in one of Bruges' most authentic spots: the Sint-Anna quarter.
At the Christmas market, you will find stalls full of craft products, fun trinkets and (Christmas) gifts. You can also go there throughout the day for a tasty snack and a refreshing drink. Travel back to the olden days in the "Volkskundemuseum" - completely free for all visitors that day - where the youngsters can also have fun at the crafts tables. The majestic "Sint-Janshuismolen" can also be visited free of charge and in the Jerusalem Chapel a guide will tell you more about the secrets of this hidden gem. On the Adornes domain, the Gruuthuse Household takes you back to the 15th century winters and explains what clothing the contemporaries of Adornes used to keep themselves warm. More than enough to have a nice Midwinter party! Midwinter Festival: on Sunday 10 December from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Saint Anne's Quarter. The Midwinter Festival is organised by Musea Brugge, in collaboration with Handmade in Brugge and the Adornes Domain, and with the valued help of our many volunteers.
