Bladelin Sessions - JulienTassin Quartet ft. Jason Palmer - Great Expectations (W.E.R.F. Records release)

 For Great Expectations, Julien Tassin once again joins forces with Nicolas Thys and Dré Pallemaerts - but also asked American trumpeter Jason Palmer to complete the quartet. Palmer is known for both his own work and his collaborations with Roy Haynes, Herbie Hancock, Jimmy Smith, Wynton Marsalis, Ravi Coltrane and many others. The new album refers to Tassin's feelings about life, hopes, expectations, happiness and deception. The fact that we have to move forward and be resilient all the time. This new collaboration with Jason Palmer may be seen as another surprising, ambitious move by Tassin. The compositions play on depth - emotionally speaking - and are often marked by dark harmonies and melodies.
