Sincfalpark (Sincfal Park)
This local park with a pond is the best-kept secret of the residents of the nearby social housing neighbourhood. A chill-out spot nestled between Komvest, Calvariebergstraat and Sint-Claradreef. This was once the quiet garden of the defunct 13th-century St Clare Monastery and of a later Capuchin monastery. These days, your kids can go wild here. Toddlers squealing with delight on their bikes and kids swinging in the playground are a familiar sight here. A little further along, thick trees, dense scrub and pollard willows together create a pocket-sized urban forest. Nothing ever came of the Sincfal apartment complex that was planned here, but the name has continued to live on in this fine spot.
