The Procession of the Holy Blood 2019

The Procession of the Holy Blood takes place annually on Ascension Day and commemorates the arrival of the Relic of the Holy Blood in Bruges. The biblical and historic evocation is well known as the religious procession which originated as a purely religious expression at the end of the thirteenth century. It has formed part of the city of Bruges’ rich history since that time.WhereHistorical centre of BrugesParcours: start at Nepomucenusbrug in Wollestraat - Dijver - Gruuthusestraat - Guido Gezelleplein - Mariastraat - Simon Stevinplein - Steenstraat - Zuidzandstraat - 't Zand - Hauwerstraat - Maagdenstraat - Smedenstraat - 't Zand - Noordzandstraat - Geldmuntstraat - Markt - Wollestraat - Oude Burg. The transit at any point of the route takes about an hour and a half.
