Museum of Oudenaarde and the Flemish Ardennes

Oudenaarde, with its thousand year old history, is situated in the heart of this undulating region and is where this Museum of Oudenaarde and of the Flemish Ardennes is located. The MOU re-enacts history by means of interactive media and special historical artefacts. The museum can be found in the Oudenaarde city hall, which is one of the most beautiful city halls in the country, where it occupies the oldest part of the building, i.e. the Cloth Hall, dating from the 14th century, and symbolizing the glorious textile past of the city. One floor up one can discover fifteen original tapestries woven in Oudenaarde, while in another hall one of Flanders’ biggest silverware collections is on display.
