Four seasons of Kookeet

Over the course of the year, you will be taken on four culinary journeys – one for each season. Wim Lybaert (television producer, vegetable-grower, cook, story-teller and ambassador for West Flanders) is the inspiration behind Kookeet and has chosen the theme: GROUND. “The ground is the source of everything. Everything starts with good ground. The ground gives food and life. It is the basis”.

At the beginning of each season, Wim selects three seasonal products which fit with the theme. The top Bruges chefs taking part get straight to work, each creating a dish or a menu in their own style using the products chosen.

The culinary journey of discovery will begin in autumn 2020 and finish in summer 2021 as part of Kookeet 2021.


Winter

The winter edition of the seasonal campaign, planned for late January, has unfortunately been cancelled due to Covid-19 and the corresponding restrictions.


Spring

April showers? Fortunately, Wim Lybaert is not as fickle as the weather in April. He will select three products that fit with the theme ‘GROUND’ and ask the participating Bruges-based chefs to create a dish or menu with them. You will soon find out which ingredients he has chosen .

What we can already tell you is that the chefs look forward to treating you to a delicious culinary event on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 April 2021!


Summer
