Cozmix - Volkssterrenwacht (Public observatory) Beisbroek

In the Cozmix observatory you will be able to admire the beauty of the sun, moon and planets in glorious close-up, thanks to the powerful telescope. In the planetarium more than 7,000 stars are projected onto the interior of the dome. Spectacular video images take you on a journey through the mysteries of the universe: you will fly over the surface of Mars and pass through the rings of Saturn. The artistic planet-pathway (with sculptures by Jef Claerhout) will complete your voyage of discovery into outer space.

Planetarium shows on Wednesday and Sunday at 3.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. and on Friday at 8.30 p.m. Shows in languages other than Dutch on Wednesday at 4.30 p.m.: first and third weeks of the month in French, second, fourth and fifth weeks in English. Extended opening hours during Belgian school holidays: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday: 2.30 p.m. - 6.00 p.m.; Wednesday: 2.30 p.m. - 7.00 p.m. and Friday: 2.30 p.m. - 6.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. - 10.00 p.m. Extra planetarium shows during Belgian school holidays: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday, at 3.00 p.m. and 4.30 p.m. For groups shows are possible every day, on reservation only.

Groups of minimum 15 or more people can visit the planetarium and observatory on appointment, also during evenings and weekends. The programme can be extended with workshops or altered in consultation with the staff.
