Bru Taal - International biennial Literature festival

For 9 days, international writers, performers, language-loving musicians and poets will becharm the inner city. About 40 authors from home and abroad will share their texts and ideas on charming and intimate places in the city centre : in cinema’s, bookshops and libraries, on Brugean stages and in museums, squares and gardens.

In May, Bruges is the literary capital of the Low Countries. In addition to several famous Belgian writers like Stefan Hertmans (Man Booker Prize nominee) and Dimitri Verhulst, BruTaal also welcomes many international well-known authors : Sandro Veronesi, Arnon Grunberg, Philippe Claudel, Eimear McBride, Julie Buntin, Cees Nooteboom, Adriaan Van Dis, Herman Koch, Connie Palmen, Marie NDiaye, … and many more.

Bru∙Taal opens on Friday 5 May with an author’s evening in  Concertgebouw and closes on Saturday 13 May with ‘ BRUTAALFEAST!
