Podcast Triennial Bruges 2021 - Bruges: world heritage site with great plans for the future
In the course of seven episodes, this podcast takes you on a journey through the city of Bruges. In episode one, we discuss a concise history of Bruges. In episode two, we discuss the importance of Bruges' role as ‘birthplace’ of the Flemish primitives (painters), such as Hans Memling and Jan van Eyck. In the third episode we tell you more about Bruges as a UNESCO World Heritage City. We walk past imposing historical buildings such as the Belfry, the Begijnhof and the Church of Our Lady, alongside more modern architectural gems such as the Concertgebouw. This brings us to episode four, which takes a look at contemporary architecture and Bruges as a city of art. Along the way, we come across creations by inspiring makers, artists and architects, arriving at chapter five, where we discuss the Triennial's preceding iterations in 2015 and 2018. In episode six, we zoom in on Triennial Bruges 2021 and look at the city's plans for the future. Finally, the final episode takes a closer look at what else Bruges has to offer for its intrepid visitors.
