Mu.ZEE has an exceptional collection of modern and contemporary art from Belgian artists or artists who live and work in Belgium. This makes the museum unique amongst other museums in Flanders. It not only houses big names from Belgian art history such as Luc Tuymans, Panamarenko, Jean Brusselmans, Roger Raveel, Jan Fabre and Raoul De Keyzer, but also their contemporaries.Although the permanent collection is frequently rearranged, you can always access the Ensor en Spilliaert wing of the museum, which opened in spring 2016. Here you will discover the rich work of the two masters of Oostende: James Ensor and Léon Spilliaert! Mu.ZEE actively follows international art events through its exhibition programme in connection with the collection policy. Every year, the Mu.ZEE 2.0 Committee organises three entry platforms together with Mu.ZEE. These platforms offer young artists the opportunity to exhibit their work in a museum. Public transport: Buses 6 and 14.
