In Flanders Fields (history of the Great War)
Welcome to this recently updated and highly interactive museum, which offers a fascinating and memorable interpretation of the events of the Great War. This is no dry summary of facts and figures, but a truly participative experience that uses modern techniques, sound effects and authentic film images to retell the history of the war in a manner that will leave no one unmoved. It is almost as if you are standing in the trenches yourself or watching the city of Ieper being destroyed with your very own eyes. Every visitor is given a personalised poppy armband, which allows you to choose your own preferred language and also gives access the personal histories of four participants in the war, whose stories are then followed throughout the museum trajectory. In short, this is a museum that you must experience before you can actually believe it!
