This double museum is the perfect place for anyone who wants to know what happened in Flanders during the Second World War. In the Canada War Museum, a number of lifelike tableaus reconstruct scenes from the front, including the Battle of the Leopold Canal (Battle of the Scheldt). There is also an excellent collection of pictures, weapons, radio transmitters and uniforms. For children there is the ‘Second World War in miniature’ in the Poland War Museum, where they can view the war’s major battles on a scale of 1:35, special adjusted to the requirements of children. In both museums, the kids can take part in a fascinating photo search. And to recover from the misery of war, afterwards you can take a peaceful (guided) stroll in museum’s themed gardens.
