Christmas shopping days 2017
The city of Bruges will be more beautiful than ever during the Christmas period and over the New Year. To make your visit as enjoyable as possible and to ensure ease of access to the city centre for everyone, special traffic measures will be introduced on the following days over the weekend: 2, 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 23, 30 December 2017 and 6, 7 January 2018.
The shopping areas between ‘t Zand and the Market Square (Zuidzandstraat, Steenstraat, Geldmuntstraat, Noordzandstraat and the short-cut to Eiermarkt) will have traffic restrictions between 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. on the aforementioned dates. All motorised transport will therefore be prohibited in these streets.
Visitors who reside in these streets or in adjacent streets with parking facilities and who are able to confirm their stay with a voucher stating the time of arrival or departure on one of these nine days will be exceptionally granted access with vehicles, but this will be restricted to the Zuidzandstraat.
In addition to the central ‘Station’ and ‘’t Zand’ car parks (where charges apply), additional free parking areas will be provided on the outskirts of the city centre. De Lijn buses will provide regular free shuttle services between the car parks and both the station and the city centre.
